关于我

"Her soul burned with the twin desires of longing and jealousy.I cared nothing for caste or rank but only for a natural fineness,an instinct for what is elegant, and a suppleness of wit."

I love nothing more than a bit of fashion DIY. Except there’s one slight problem- without fail my rudimentary skills fail to live up to my ambitions. In fact, it’s fair to say that when the ability to thread a sewing machine gene was being dished out, I was at the back of the queue, with my nose in some obscure book. Anyway the point I’m trying to make is that due to lack of aforementioned skills I don’t do very much DIY, and I find it difficult to get inspired to want to do any in the first place. I prefer to leave that kind of malarkey to a certain Mr Raymond.

But Anni Jurgenson. has changed my mind. After a mini ‘why can’t I do that?’ tantrum I have become marginally obsessed with her incredible zipper jewellery, particularly the cuffs and chokers. Combing two of my two loves- zips and black- I love the sheer individuality of the pieces. It’s difficult to use such common, functional elements in such ways, to see beyond their practicalities- but Anni’s creations do just that. Available to order through her Etsy site, I’m having trouble deciding which piece I want the most.

And just to rub salt into the proverbial wound, she’s only 14 and has a rather good blog. Jealous? Moi? Not much…
